Experiencing...

You just look around, look into the eyes of a child, or into the eyes of your beloved, your mother, your friend - or just feel a tree. Have you ever hugged a tree? Hug a tree, and one day you will come to know that it is not only that you have hugged the tree but that the tree also responds, the tree also hugs you. Then for the first time you will be able to know that the tree is not just the form, it is not just a certain species the botanists talk about, it is an unknown God - so green in your courtyard, so full of flowers in your courtyard, so close to you, beckoning you, calling you again and again.

THIS IS A FIRE RAINBOW - THE RAREST OF ALL NATURALLY OCCURRING ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA.

CLOUDS HAVE TO BE CIRRUS, AT LEAST 20K FEET IN THE AIR, WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ICE CRYSTALS AND THE SUN HAS TO HIT THE CLOUDS AT PRECISELY 58 DEGREES.

A lamp not lit
is fueled by a burning sun
if viewed from the right perspective

What makes a fire burn
is space between the logs,
a breathing space.
Too much of a good thing,
too many logs
packed in too tight
can douse the flames
almost as surely
as a pail of water would.

So building fires
requires attention
to the spaces in between,
as much as to the wood.

When we are able to build
open spaces
in the same way
we have learned
to pile on the logs,
then we can come to see how
it is fuel, and the absence of fuel
together, that make fire possible.

We only need to lay a log
lightly from time to time.
A fire
grows
simply because the space is there,
with openings
in which the flame
that knows just how it wants to burn
can find its way.

Rebel Spirit

To abandon all limitations I place on myself.
To challenge expectations placed on me by others.
To move confidently in the direction of my dreams.
To release the outcome.
This is what it means to me.
How about you?

In terms of rebirth or growth, the spiral symbol represents the consciousness of nature beginning from the core or center and thus expanding outwardly. This is the way of all things

Chakra are commonly described, as above, as energy centers in the spine located at major branchings of the human nervous system, beginning at the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull. Chakras are considered to be a point or nexus of metaphysical and biopphysical energy of the human body.

Sweet Darkness

When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your womb
tonight.

The night will give you a horizon further than you can see.

You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.

Give up all other worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn

anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

Hamsa...

The Hamsa is a hand with five digits, the outer two pointing away from the center. In all of its variations, it represents protection and healing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamsa
Meditation: The universal mantra-

Think of her as a piece of you. Send her love and light as often as you can and she will guide you. After all, she was born to help keep your fire burning brightly.... and all that she asks of you in return is to remember, always, to make the time to fuel that flame.

A brand new day...

an early morning. 5:30 am. i even took a walk already. i dont think there is anything like the first day of feeling normal after a bad flu. and i am certain there is nothing like the first day after an allergic reaction to epoxy vapors COMBINED with the flu. and while I am feeling fabulously new this morning, I can't help but wonder... why is it that we sometimes go and go and go until total debilitation is the only means through which we allow ourselves to slooooow doooown???
my desk mere moments before the first sneeze....
